May 20 — Enrique Lizaso, Cofounder & CEO of Multiverse Computing, joined a high-level session at the European Parliament titled “Building European Leadership for the Second Quantum Revolution,” hosted by STOA (Science and Technology Options Assessment). This influential gathering brought together leading voices in quantum science, industry, and policy to shape Europe’s path in the emerging quantum era.
Enrique participated in a distinguished panel alongside Loïc Henriet, Vedran Dunjko, Antti Vasara, Thomas Strohm, and Eleni Diamanti, moderated by physicist Tommaso Calarco. The discussion focused on scaling investment, supporting cross-border collaboration, and enabling quantum innovation that directly addresses industrial and societal needs.
Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-president of the European Commission for Technological Sovereignty, Security and Democracy, played an active role in the session. She underscored the need for a comprehensive European Quantum Strategy and emphasized how legislative and financial instruments must evolve to support this fast-moving field.
Representing Multiverse Computing, Enrique Lizaso emphasized the strategic importance of quantum software and near-term applications. He shared insights on how quantum and quantum-inspired algorithms are already delivering measurable value in real-world scenarios — reinforcing the message that Europe must champion applied quantum solutions to improve technological sovereignty.
Beyond the Parliament session, Multiverse Computing engaged in broader discussions throughout the Brussels Roadshow, contributing to the collective call for:
- A €100B European Quantum Fund to match global ambition,
- A Quantum Strategy & Act to guide deployment,
- Accelerated and accessible funding mechanisms,
- And a level playing field for European quantum innovators.
The company’s participation reflects its continued commitment to advancing Europe’s quantum leadership — not just in theory, but through practical, industry-driven innovation.
