Román Orús has been appointed to the United Nations’ Independent International Scientific Panel on AI

Established by the UN General Assembly, this global panel brings together leading experts to advance evidence-based dialogue on AI’s opportunities, risks, and societal impact.

Román is an internationally recognized theoretical physicist and AI researcher, and an Ikerbasque Research Professor at theDonostia International Physics Center (DIPC). With a PhD in Physics and a career spanning leading institutions across Europe and Australia, he has made significant contributions to quantum, tensor networks, and the practical application of advanced AI technologies.

At Multiverse Computing, Román leads our scientific vision translating cutting-edge research into real-world innovation including breakthroughs in AI model compression and quantum-inspired technologies.
