As noted in recent announcements, quantum innovation is already impacting the cloud technologies used today. While experts believe that it will take 10-20 or more years to solve quantum computing’s engineering challenges and take the technology mainstream, many F.I.s are investing in technologies now with a ten or more year lifespan. This potential implementation overlap makes investing quantum standards and technology critical. Developing a quantum strategy will be key for all F.I.’s over the next three years to future proof their investments, data security and maintain pace with innovative players in the industry.
