Multiverse Computing today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cohere, a leading enterprise AI platform. The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration focused on advancing the efficiency and deployment flexibility of large language models for enterprise and institutional clients.
Optimizing AI Deployment
At the center of the collaboration is CompactifAI, Multiverse Computing's proprietary AI model compression and optimization solution built using quantum-inspired techniques based on tensor networks. Unlike conventional compression approaches, CompactifAI enables:
- Up to ~80% reduction in model size
- Minimal accuracy loss of just 2-3%
- Significant improvements in processing speed
- Reduced cloud and infrastructure costs
- Lower energy consumption, supporting sustainable AI
This allows AI models to run efficiently on reduced computational resources, making advanced AI viable in environments where it was previously impractical. This includes edge devices, on-premises infrastructure, and fully air-gapped environments where data security and operational independence are non-negotiable.
Advancing Enterprise AI Sovereignty
Through this collaboration, Multiverse Computing and Cohere will work together to bring CompactifAI's compression capabilities into Cohere's enterprise deployment pipeline.
Key areas of focus include:
- Model optimization and efficient deployment: Applying CompactifAI's tensor network methods to reduce the computational footprint of Cohere's models across a broader range of infrastructure
- European technological sovereignty: Supporting regional industry and institutional clients with AI capabilities that are designed, controlled, and deployable within Europe
- Edge and secure environments:
This agreement reflects Multiverse Computing's growing position within the global AI ecosystem and its expanding partnerships with leading AI providers focused on closing the gap between frontier model capabilities and real-world deployment constraints.
"This partnership with Cohere is a significant step in bringing our AI optimization technology to one of the most widely deployed enterprise AI platforms in the market," said Enrique Lizaso, co-founder & CEO of Multiverse Computing. "Our mission has always been to make frontier AI deployable anywhere, not just in environments with abundant compute. Together with Cohere, we are advancing the infrastructure for AI sovereignty across Europe and Canada."
"Together with Multiverse Computing, we're focusing on helping enterprises build AI on their own terms, with greater control over deployment, performance, and data access," said Aidan Gomez, CEO and Co-founder of Cohere. "Cohere brings AI directly to where data resides, from cloud and VPC environments to on-premises and fully airgapped infrastructure. As organizations and governments increasingly prioritise sovereignty and flexibility, this is about giving them the independence to innovate securely and at scale."
