Mitiga Solutions and Multiverse Computing launch strategic commercial partnership to scale AI-native climate-risk intelligence globally

Multiverse will become the technological advisor for Mitiga and licence Mitiga’s EarthScan™ climate intelligence under a multi-million-euro agreement and combine it with its efficient-AI and global distribution capabilities, enabling joint go-to-market for decision-ready physical climate risk, financial impact and risk-transfer intelligence.

Multiverse Computing

BARCELONA & SAN SEBASTIÁN, Spain — July 23rd — Mitiga Solutions, the Barcelona-based climate-risk intelligence provider and spin-off of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, and Multiverse Computing, the San Sebastián-based leader in efficient AI and quantum-inspired model compression, today announced a strategic commercial partnership to make trusted, science-based climate intelligence available at global scale.

The partnership will turn Mitiga's climate science into scalable data products, intelligent agents, and marketplace-ready services, with Multiverse Computing serving as the technological advisor for the evolution of Mitiga's solutions. Under the agreement, Multiverse Computing will licence Mitiga's EarthScan™ climate-risk intelligence through a multi-million-euro commercial commitment, giving Multiverse access to a global representation of physical climate risk and Mitiga's dynamic EarthScan™ data catalogue. The agreement also extends distribution of Mitiga's solutions through Multiverse's enterprise and global partner channels.

The collaboration creates a new route to market for climate intelligence at a moment when physical climate risk is becoming a board-level financial, operational and infrastructure issue. Rather than requiring organisations to commission one-off specialist analyses, the joint offering will enable customers to consume Mitiga’s hazard, exposure, vulnerability and financial-impact data through APIs, AI agents and digital marketplaces, compressing time-to-insight while preserving scientific traceability and auditability.

From hazard intelligence to financial impact and risk transfer

Mitiga’s EarthScan™ platform combines climate science, high-performance computing and AI to assess physical climate risk across multiple perils, scenarios and time horizons. The intelligence delivered through the partnership will include hazard informationincluding risks such as flood, wildfire, extreme weather, wind, hail, heat, drought, volcanoes, etc. alongside asset-level metrics that help organisations understand not only where risk exists, but how it can affect performance, downtime, repair cost, asset value, capital allocation and long-term resilience.

A core differentiator is the translation of climate risk into financial metrics. EarthScan™ outputs can support Climate Value & Revenue-at-Risk, loss indicators, exceedance probability, adaptation signals, transition and risk-reduction decisions. This gives infrastructure owners, insurers, banks, asset managers, corporates and public institutions a practical bridge from climate science to financial decision-making, from regulatory disclosure and portfolio screening to operational resilience, insurance pricing and capital planning.

The joint proposition is also expected to support the next layer of market development: risk transfer. By turning physical climate exposure into auditable and financially relevant risk metrics, Mitiga’s intelligence can help clients identify where risk can be reduced through adaptation, retained on balance sheet, insured, or potentially transferred to the capital markets through third-party structures and partners.

A commercial partnership, not only a technology project

For Mitiga, the partnership accelerates the company’s transition from a SaaS-and-consulting model toward a scalable, AI-native Data-as-a-Service business. For Multiverse, it provides a demanding, mission-critical use case for efficient AI in one of the world’s fastest-growing enterprise risk categories. Together, the companies will work to package Mitiga’s climate intelligence into data products and agent-based services that can be deployed across cloud, marketplace and sovereignty-sensitive environments.

The agreement is structured to align incentives commercially. Multiverse’s licence of EarthScan™ represents a clear commercial validation of Mitiga’s data and science, while the joint go-to-market framework is intended to support global distribution of climate-risk intelligence through Multiverse’s channels, including enterprise environments where customers increasingly procure AI-ready data products and agentic services.

Efficient, portable and sovereign AI for critical climate intelligence

Multiverse’s CompactifAI technology is designed to reduce the size, cost and energy requirements of AI models while preserving performance. Applied to climate intelligence, this efficiency can make advanced analytics more portable, more cost-effective and easier to deploy across regulated or sovereignty-sensitive settings, including private-cloud, on-premise or marketplace-based environments where data control, compute efficiency and auditability matter.

The partnership also aligns with Europe’s broader ambition to build sovereign, efficient AI infrastructure for critical industrial and societal applications. Multiverse Computing is participating as technology partner in the Spanish public-private consortium for one of Europe’s AI gigafactories under the EU’s InvestAI programme. Science-based climate intelligence is the kind of high-value, real-world application such infrastructure is intended to enable: AI that is not only powerful, but efficient, trusted and economically useful.

“Physical climate risk is becoming a direct financial and operational risk for the world’s most valuable assets. This partnership with Multiverse gives us a much bigger commercial engine: a joint go-to-market path, and a way to put Mitiga’s science into the hands of many more decision-makers through AI-native data products and agents. Our goal is simple: make climate intelligence as actionable and accessible as any other core enterprise risk dataset.”

Dr. Alejandro Martí, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Mitiga Solutions.

“Efficient AI is what turns powerful models into everyday tools. By combining Multiverse’s model-compression and AI deployment capabilities with Mitiga’s climate-risk intelligence, we can help bring decision-grade climate data to more customers, across more channels and in more sovereignty-sensitive environments.”

Enrique Lizaso, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Multiverse Computing.

Commercial relevance for customers

Infrastructure and energy: Assess how heat, drought, wind, hail, extreme weather, flood, wildfire, and other hazards may affect asset performance, degradation, downtime, repair cost and long-term investment returns.

Financial institutions and asset managers: Translate physical climate exposure into portfolio screening, due diligence, Climate Value and Revenue-at-Risk, capital allocation and scenario-informed risk management.

Insurers and risk-transfer partners: Use auditable hazard and loss intelligence to support underwriting, pricing, adaptation recommendations and potential risk-transfer structures with specialist third parties.

Corporates and public institutions: Embed climate intelligence into operational resilience, regulatory disclosure, procurement, supply-chain planning and adaptation roadmaps.
