February 26, 2026. – Cloud solutions provider Arsys and Multiverse Computing, a leading AI model provider, have announced a strategic collaboration 8ra (IPCEI-CIS), one of the European Union’s largest innovation projects aimed at strengthening digital sovereignty and enhancing the region’s competitiveness in the global market.

Through this partnership, Arsys will use CompactifAI, Multiverse Computing’s technology that reduces the computational footprint of large language models (LLMs), in developing the private AI solution it is launching for the European 8ra project. In this way, the privacy and security of Arsys’ cloud infrastructure will be complemented by the efficiency and sustainability of Multiverse Computing’s technology, which compresses LLMs by up to 95%, reducing AI operating costs and energy consumption.

According to Miguel Martínez Vélez, Chief Product Officer at Arsys, “With Multiverse Computing joining 8ra’s technology ecosystem, one of Spain’s most innovative AI companies becomes part of the initiative. This collaboration strengthens a value that is highly distinctive for Europeans: sustainability, which is key to reducing AI’s environmental impact and democratizing its adoption. Increasing AI efficiency will accelerate its uptake among companies, which increasingly demand smarter solutions tailored to their businesses.”

According to Iraia Ibarzabal, Chief Growth Officer at Multiverse Computing, “Taking part in a project like 8ra, alongside Arsys, one of Spain’s pioneering cloud companies, is a perfect example of how collaboration within the European digital ecosystem is reinforcing values such as sovereignty and sustainability. This joint effort drives the development of responsible technological solutions that organizations demand to transform and evolve their operations through such a disruptive technology as AI.”

The 8ra Project

Part of the Important Project of Common European Interest on Cloud Infrastructure and Services (IPCEI-CIS), 8ra is one of the European Union’s most ambitious R&D initiatives. With €1.2 billion in public funding and total investment of €2.6 billion, this public-private project has brought together the region’s technology ecosystem to develop the digital infrastructure solutions of the future without compromising key EU principles such as privacy, sustainability, and fair competition—promoting a more digital, sovereign, and competitive Europe.

Arsys is one of the 20 European companies leading the 8ra project, an initiative that also involves more than one hundred European companies and R&D entities from twelve EU countries. Aligned with the IONOS Group’s strategy to strengthen the European Union’s digital independence, Arsys’ participation in 8ra is structured around three initiatives: a cloud-edge meta-orchestration platform, a private AI solution, and an intelligent monitoring system for data centers.
